Bayern Munich chief opens door for Serge Gnabry exit

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic refuses to rule out the prospect of winger Serge Gnabry leaving the club this summer.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has refused to rule out the prospect of winger Serge Gnabry leaving the club this summer.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a prolific 2021-22 campaign with the German giants, scoring 17 goals and registering 10 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

However, Gnabry’s long-term future at the club has recently been questioned following the arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool earlier this week.

The Germany international has just a year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena, and although Salihamidzic is keen for the winger to stay, he has suggested that a transfer cannot be ruled out if the player decides to seek pastures new.

Speaking to Sky Sports News in Germany, via journalist Fabrizio Romano, Salihamidzic said: “We really want to keep him. I hope that he chooses Bayern.

“If a player doesn’t want to decide for the club, then we can find a solution that makes everyone happy.”

Gnabry, who has spent the last five years with Bayern, has previously been linked with a return to Arsenal, while Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.
