The royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, arrived in the United Kingdom today for the first time in two years – and met with the Queen in private at Windsor Castle.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who were in town for the customary Maundy Thursday service while on their way to the Invictus Games in Holland, smiled and waved to the crowds of people who had gathered to see the event.
The pair also got to see Prince Charles during their quick trip at Windsor Castle, which was the first time the couple had visited the United Kingdom together since March 2020.
As for Majesty Magazine’s Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief, she stated that today’s visit would have been welcomed by all parties involved.
“It is a good chance to cleanse the air and extend an olive branch,” she remarked. After everything that has transpired, it must have taken a great deal of effort for Harry and Meghan to travel to Windsor Castle.
“Maundy Thursday is also a very meaningful day for the Queen since it is a day dedicated to forgiveness.” She is not the kind to harbour grudges, and I believe she would have welcomed them with open arms if they had arrived.” It is not known if the couple took their two-year-old son Archie and their 11-month-old daughter Lilibet, who has never met the Queen, with them.
Visitors to Windsor are taken aback when they see Meghan and Harry for the first time.
One visitor to Windsor Castle expressed astonishment at seeing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who paid a brief visit to the castle for the Maundy Thursday ritual, when they arrived.
“I couldn’t believe it when I realised who it was,” said the eyewitness, according to the Sun. We waved, and they returned the wave.
“They appeared to be in good spirits and comfortable as they waved to everyone on the bus.” Because Charles and the Queen were both at Windsor Castle at the same time, it is likely that they met both of them.
“It was definitely a sight to behold. “We were expecting to see Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the ceremony, but we had no idea we would run into Harry and Meghan,” says the author.
